Assassin's Creed: Revelations

The game

The Desmond’s Journey side quest gameplay in Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, produced by Massive, follows Desmond as he falls into a coma and wakes up trapped inside the Animus machine, built to extract and simulate memories. Desmond must navigate his way through this abstract and surreal world, separating his own memories from those of his ancestors, Enzio and Altaïr.

About the project

The unique and innovative experience developed at Massive started as a hobby project for one of our programmers. It grew from there, catching the attention of the Assassin’s Creed team and eventually became Desmond’s Journey. Massive also produced part of a DLC called The Lost Archive, released in February 2012.

Visuals & Concept

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is presented from a third-person perspective in the open world setting of a visually stunning re-creation of 16th-century Constantinople. Improved graphic detail allows the player to travel to places much quicker than before while eliminating targets and exploring the environment.
