About The Studio
Founded in 1997 and now fully owned by Ubisoft Entertainment, Massive is a premier producer of games and interactive entertainment software for a worldwide market. "World in Conflict" proved that aiming for excellence pays off, as it met high critical acclaim across the world and received multiple Game of the Year and Editor's Choice Awards. This was one of the reasons Massive was ranked as the 42nd best game studio in the world by Game Developers Research in 2008, making Massive the only Nordic game studio on the list. Massive was also ranked as the 8th best place to work in Sweden and received an award for "Best Integration and Multicultural Work" by the Great Place to Work Institute.
The studio is located in a large custom-fit building in the centre of Malmö, the commercial centre of southern Sweden. Shopping malls, restaurants, pubs and cinemas are all conveniently located just around the corner. Malmö central station is a short walk from our doorstep and the international airport at Copenhagen in Denmark is only 20 minutes away by train. The world is at our doorstep.
Massive currently has over 120 passionate and creative employees, spread over two development teams, media and marketing, cinematics, quality assurance, tech and tool teams, finance and HR, community management and consumer testing. The custom-fit facilities include a sound studio, which is said to be one of the best in the region and a fully operational consumer test lab. However, facilities are nothing without skilled and dedicated workers . We believe that success is a team effort and every employee at Massive is crucial in our endeavor to create the best games possible!

We truly believe that we can create the best games, and our enthusiasm and creativity to achieve this stop at nothing. We have the opportunity to work with what we love. Let's make the most of it! - We can always make it better
We are never afraid of discussing how to change, improve and innovate; be it the project, the process, the company or ourselves as individuals. Constant improvement is the first step to constant success.
Studio Initiatives
Massive employees are encouraged to take initiatives they feel passionate about. This has given birth to things like an amatuer soccer team for employees called "Real Massive" and an "Environmental Task-force" that works towards decreasing the studios environmental footprint. The studio is also commited to supporting local educations and gaming initiatives by providing lecturers, acting as advisors or supplying merchandise and equipment. Social events are also very important and employees have the opportunity to regularly participate in everything from lunch time boxing classes to after work parties and other social activities.
Studio history
The company was founded in 1997 under the name Massive Entertainment. The highly acclaimed PC game "Ground Control", launched in 2000, established Massive as one of the most innovative developers in the real-time strategy genre. The sequel, "Ground Control II" launched in 2004 and the 2007 release of "World in Conflict", further strengthened Massives position in the industry. Aside from strategy games Massive has also developed several integrated games for mobile phones, SMS and WAP platforms, and a number of additional titles for the PC.
In 2002 Vivendi Universal Games (VG) acquired the company, which made Massive one of only two internal development studios outside North America. In 2008 Vivendi Games merged with Activision and formed Activision Blizzard. Massive was divested in the process and purchased by Ubisoft Entertainment, thus becoming Ubisoft Massive.
